Singapore's entertainment scene is buzzing with romantic news as two popular radio DJs recently announced their engagements in beautifully orchestrated proposals that left them speechless.
Yes933's bubbly host Hazelle Teo, 31, shared her magical engagement story to 24-year-old pianist and content creator James Wong through an emotional Instagram post on June 6. The surprise proposal unfolded during what was supposed to be the final night of her work trip in Qingdao.
"Exhausted from travel and ready to collapse into bed at 1am, I opened my hotel door to the most breathtaking sight," Hazelle recounted. "Soft candlelight danced across a room filled with white roses, a heart-shaped 'Marry Me' cake, and my now-fiancé standing nervously amidst it all."
The romantic setup showed James' meticulous planning - he'd secretly coordinated with her workplace a month prior to extend her stay and even packed extra outfits in his luggage. "His quiet thoughtfulness made this moment more perfect than any fantasy I'd imagined," gushed the radiant bride-to-be.
A Modern Love Story Born on Instagram
The couple's meet-cute story sounds straight out of a rom-com. Earlier this year, Hazelle discovered James through Instagram's explore page and boldly reached out for a musical collaboration. "I thought 'This cute pianist could accompany my Taylor Swift cover'," she laughed when speaking to CNA Lifestyle.
Their professional partnership blossomed into romance after a marathon three-hour supper conversation that broke through James' initial reserve. "That night changed everything," Hazelle recalled fondly. "We couldn't stop talking, and suddenly every text message carried new excitement."
987FM's Germaine Tan Says Yes Under Maldivian Skies
The wave of happy engagements continues with 987FM personality Germaine Tan sharing news of her betrothal to Zouk Group CEO Andrew Li on June 1. The music industry power couple celebrated their love on a private Maldivian sandbank as the sun dipped below the horizon.
"Andrew knows how much I cherish sunsets over water," Germaine shared in her social media announcement alongside breathtaking proposal photos. Overcome with emotion during Andrew's heartfelt speech, she humorously admitted responding with: "What should I say now? Yes?"
"
The normally articulate DJ praised her fiancé's unwavering support: "His patience and kindness have been my anchor." She concluded her joyful post by raising a glass metaphorically: "Cheers to forever with my best friend."/P>
Both brides-to-be have received overwhelming congratulations from fans celebrating these fairytale-worthy proposals that prove romance is alive even for busy media personalities./>
